MiG SRX Speaker Footers

Where the music meets the floor, everything changes.

Loudspeakers generate more mechanical energy than any other component in your system. Every watt of power your amplifier delivers is converted into physical motion — cone excursion, cabinet vibration, energy radiating through the enclosure and into whatever surface your speakers rest on. That interface between speaker and floor is one of the most critical and most neglected junctions in all of high-end audio.

MiG SRX Speaker Footer changes the equation. Built on the same precision CNC-machined resonance chamber and next-generation UEF Metamaterial platform as the acclaimed MiG SRX, the Speaker Footer variant adds a hardened steel spike assembly for direct mechanical coupling to your listening room’s floor. The result is a controlled energy path that drains cabinet-borne resonance, tightens the bond between loudspeaker and room, and reveals a level of low-frequency authority and spatial precision that no amount of cabling or power conditioning can replicate on its own.

Available in sets of four or as individual footers, with a selection of thread adapters to fit virtually any loudspeaker on the market.

Design Approach

Engineered for loudspeakers. Designed to transform them.

The Spike Assembly

The standard MiG SRX uses a precision-forged dome resonator to shape and redirect energy within rack-mounted components. The Speaker Footer replaces that dome with a hardened, CNC-machined steel spike and threaded stud assembly — purpose-built for the demands of loudspeaker coupling.

This spike creates a direct mechanical ground path from your speaker’s cabinet through the resonance chamber and into the floor beneath it. Instead of allowing vibrational energy to pool and smear within the speaker enclosure, the spike channels it downward with surgical efficiency. The contact geometry concentrates force into a single point, maximizing energy transfer velocity while minimizing the contact footprint that would otherwise reflect energy back into the cabinet.

Result: Faster transients, deeper and more controlled bass, and a dramatic reduction in cabinet-induced coloration.

Precision Bearing Interface

Between the upper and lower sections of each footer sits a triad of hardened steel bearings. These bearings serve a dual purpose: they allow the resonance chamber to self-level under load while simultaneously creating a controlled mechanical crossover point. Low-frequency energy passes through the bearing interface and into the spike. Higher-frequency mechanical noise is redirected into the carbon fiber resonance body and UEF Metamaterial matrix, where it is absorbed and converted rather than reflected.

This is not isolation. This is intelligent energy routing — selective coupling at the frequencies that matter, selective absorption at the frequencies that don’t.

CNC-Machined Resonance Chamber

The same high-carbon steel resonance chamber found in the standard MiG SRX is retained, but with wall-thickness profiles re-voiced specifically for the higher energy loads and lower frequency content generated by loudspeakers. Strategically thinned and thickened regions control how energy propagates through the chamber, shaping its exit velocity and spectral character before it reaches the spike or is handed off to the UEF Metamaterial layer.

UEF Metamaterial Matrix

Each MiG SRX Speaker Footer incorporates the same next-generation UEF Metamaterial formulation found across the SRX platform. This proprietary matrix works in concert with the carbon fiber resonance body to absorb and convert high-frequency mechanical noise that the bearing interface redirects away from the spike path. Rather than simply dampening this energy, the UEF Metamaterial converts it into heat at the molecular level, eliminating the secondary reflections and standing-wave artifacts that plague conventional isolation products.

The result is a blacker background between notes, greater low-level detail retrieval, and a sense of openness that transforms how your speakers interact with your listening room.

Thread Compatibility

Universal Fit

Every MiG SRX Speaker Footer ships with your choice of thread adapter to ensure a precise, secure fit with your loudspeakers. Whether your speakers use ½”-13, ¼-20 M8x1.25, M6x1 mounting points, Synergistic Research provides the correct hardware at time of order. We also have a YG adapters that are M10x1.25 x 8mm long. Custom thread options are available upon request for speakers with proprietary mounting systems.

Speakers with three-point mounting systems can be accommodated by purchasing individual footers rather than a full set of four. Contact your authorized dealer to confirm the correct thread specification and quantity for your loudspeakers.

Field Architecture

Tuned to the Same Frequency

MiG SRX Speaker Footer is voiced to operate in synergy with the FEQ Carbon and upcoming LogiQ ELF / ULF field generators. The resonance chamber and UEF Metamaterial matrix are tuned to track the same ultra-low-frequency bias used across the Synergistic Research ecosystem.

This turns your loudspeaker’s mechanical footprint into an intentional part of the system’s overall field architecture, rather than an unmanaged source of vibration and RF interaction. When deployed alongside FEQ Carbon and LogiQ in the same listening room, the Speaker Footer’s performance envelope expands further — tighter phase coherence, deeper spatial layering, and a more immersive sense of acoustic scale.

MiG Series Reviews

“Everything matters” as the saying goes and like almost everything else in life today, somebody is always looking to stretch the envelope of what’s possible. Ted Denney is one of the fastest horses within the high-end audio race today. I’m not at the finish line with insight into every variation in these different categories, but the Orange Duplex, the Carbon Fiber Duplex Cover, and the MiG SX footers sound like they could be near the limit of “what’s possible” at this point in time.”

“With the addition of the Synergistic Research MiG SX Footers, the already exceptional performance of my Calyx Femto DAC was kicked up a notch with sound that was more relaxed and with more meat on the bones, so to speak. To my ears, the Calyx Femto is still one of the best DACs I have ever heard and the MiG SX Footers proved that even with this very high level of performance, there was room for improvement with the right footers.”

“The music has a greater sense of ease and clarity with a speedier attack and delivery.  There is a sense of more resolution and transparency with all of the vocals and instruments.  The Keith Jarrett Trio and Ben Webster Quintet had a snap and presence that wasn’t previously felt.  This morning’s Spanish piano with  Alicia deLarroccha and French piano with Walter Giesek both felt more in the room with them.  Bravo to Ted for the design and implementing the choice of materials to create this musical sound enhancement.”

Bob Grossman, September 2021

I have now been officially recording masters for the last three months using the MiG-SX supporting my A/D with very gratifying results.  The ultimate proof comes from client response which has been overwhelmingly outstanding.

Every client has brought up how easy it is to hear what is there and how defined everything is.  They can more clearly discern what they ask for and it is easier for me to give them what they are looking for.

One main component of mastering is definition.  It might be keeping what is there.  It might be about enhancing it.  It could be and often is about not bringing out unwanted definition in the wrong areas or spectrums.  The MiG-SX makes things more defined but to my ear always in a way that gravitates to space around the instruments, depth of stereo field and the relationship of one thing to another.  Many products that affect these areas often make one area better at the expense of losing something somewhere else.  It’s also worth noting that recordings that suffer from sibilance, seems to suffer less as you can clearly hear resolution below and above the problem frequencies which improves the overall sound.

Resonance is also dramatically affected and improved. Since most audio we perceive includes resonance from instruments or human voices, hearing that resonance more clearly really elevates the potential for a “Being There” moment.

Bottom line is that for me this is a “must have ” component.  Like most HiFi aficionados or audio enthusiasts, pro or amatuer, I have spent a considerable amount of time and financial investment choosing gear, listening, trying different cables, outlets, grounding schemes and power boxes.  The MiG-SX has dramatically improved whatever I put them under.  The ability to turn them over and try different tunings is incredible and there is always a clear winning position to my ears.

Cost ratio vs overall system performance and improvement is another “no brainer” for me.  The MiG-SX speak for themselves.
