MiG SRX Speaker Footers

The Speaker Has Never Been the Problem. The Interface Has.

Your speaker is engineered to convert an electrical signal into acoustic energy with precision. But the moment it makes contact with the floor, that precision is compromised. Mechanical energy flows back into the cabinet. The floor couples to the speaker. Resonance contaminates the field. The image collapses at the edges. The low end loses definition.

Traditional spikes attempt to drain this energy. They don’t control it.

The SRX Speaker Footer does something fundamentally different.

The Architecture

The SRX Speaker Footer applies the full MiG SRX technology stack to the most mechanically demanding interface in your system — the point where your speaker meets the floor.

A precision CNC-machined chassis combines machine aluminum, stainless steel, carbon fiber, and carbon tungsten — differential materials selected specifically for their distinct vibration propagation characteristics. This is not an aesthetic choice. Each material handles a different frequency range of mechanical energy. Together they form a resonance management architecture, not a passive spike.

The adjustable stainless steel spike point allows precise leveling of your speaker on any surface — carpet, hardwood, stone — without compromising the mechanical coupling interface.

Four Footers. Two Distinct Roles.

Most speakers ship with four contact points. The SRX Speaker Footer system is engineered around that reality — with a specific metamaterial strategy assigned to each position.

Three of the four footers carry a hybrid UEF Metamaterial formulation that addresses the full performance spectrum simultaneously — holographic realism and soundstage density, low-frequency impact and structural drive, envelopment and warmth, and midrange liquidity.

Each of these three footers does everything at once. No compromises. No tradeoffs.

The fourth footer is different, singularly voiced for one purpose — to lock the center image.

It is positioned at the rear inside corner of each speaker — the corner geometrically closest to center stage. On the right speaker, it occupies the rear right position. On the left speaker, the rear left. From both sides of the soundstage, this footer anchors the phantom center from its optimal position.

Footer Four is not interchangeable. Position matters. The metamaterial and the geometry work together.

The result is a center image that doesn’t drift, doesn’t smear, and doesn’t collapse at volume. It locks.

Field Integration

Tuned to the Same Frequency

The SRX Speaker Footer is voiced to operate in synergy with the full Synergistic Research ecosystem — FEQ Carbon, LOGIQ, and the MiG SRX footers under your components. The UEF Metamaterials are tuned to track the same ultra-low-frequency bias used across the SR product line.

This turns your speaker’s mechanical footprint into an intentional part of your system’s overall field architecture — rather than an unmanaged source of vibration and resonance contamination.

From Lead Designer Ted Denney

“Every other footer on the market treats the speaker-to-floor interface as an isolation problem. I treat it as a field management solution. The SRX Speaker Footer doesn’t isolate. It governs. Three footers handle everything simultaneously — slam, midrange liquidity, warmth, holography — because the hybrid metamaterial formulation doesn’t force you to choose. The fourth footer does one thing. It locks the center. Position it correctly and the image stops moving. That’s not a feature. That’s engineering.”

Thread Compatibility

Universal Fit

Every MiG SRX Speaker Footer ships with your choice of thread adapter to ensure a precise, secure fit with your loudspeakers. Whether your speakers use ½”-13, ¼-20 M8x1.25, M6x1 mounting points, Synergistic Research provides the correct hardware at time of order. We also have a YG adapters that are M10x1.25 x 8mm long. Custom thread options are available upon request for speakers with proprietary mounting systems.

Speakers with three-point mounting systems can be accommodated by purchasing individual footers rather than a full set of four. Contact your authorized dealer to confirm the correct thread specification and quantity for your loudspeakers.

MiG Series Reviews

“Everything matters” as the saying goes and like almost everything else in life today, somebody is always looking to stretch the envelope of what’s possible. Ted Denney is one of the fastest horses within the high-end audio race today. I’m not at the finish line with insight into every variation in these different categories, but the Orange Duplex, the Carbon Fiber Duplex Cover, and the MiG SX footers sound like they could be near the limit of “what’s possible” at this point in time.”

“With the addition of the Synergistic Research MiG SX Footers, the already exceptional performance of my Calyx Femto DAC was kicked up a notch with sound that was more relaxed and with more meat on the bones, so to speak. To my ears, the Calyx Femto is still one of the best DACs I have ever heard and the MiG SX Footers proved that even with this very high level of performance, there was room for improvement with the right footers.”

“The music has a greater sense of ease and clarity with a speedier attack and delivery.  There is a sense of more resolution and transparency with all of the vocals and instruments.  The Keith Jarrett Trio and Ben Webster Quintet had a snap and presence that wasn’t previously felt.  This morning’s Spanish piano with  Alicia deLarroccha and French piano with Walter Giesek both felt more in the room with them.  Bravo to Ted for the design and implementing the choice of materials to create this musical sound enhancement.”

Bob Grossman, September 2021

I have now been officially recording masters for the last three months using the MiG-SX supporting my A/D with very gratifying results.  The ultimate proof comes from client response which has been overwhelmingly outstanding.

Every client has brought up how easy it is to hear what is there and how defined everything is.  They can more clearly discern what they ask for and it is easier for me to give them what they are looking for.

One main component of mastering is definition.  It might be keeping what is there.  It might be about enhancing it.  It could be and often is about not bringing out unwanted definition in the wrong areas or spectrums.  The MiG-SX makes things more defined but to my ear always in a way that gravitates to space around the instruments, depth of stereo field and the relationship of one thing to another.  Many products that affect these areas often make one area better at the expense of losing something somewhere else.  It’s also worth noting that recordings that suffer from sibilance, seems to suffer less as you can clearly hear resolution below and above the problem frequencies which improves the overall sound.

Resonance is also dramatically affected and improved. Since most audio we perceive includes resonance from instruments or human voices, hearing that resonance more clearly really elevates the potential for a “Being There” moment.

Bottom line is that for me this is a “must have ” component.  Like most HiFi aficionados or audio enthusiasts, pro or amatuer, I have spent a considerable amount of time and financial investment choosing gear, listening, trying different cables, outlets, grounding schemes and power boxes.  The MiG-SX has dramatically improved whatever I put them under.  The ability to turn them over and try different tunings is incredible and there is always a clear winning position to my ears.

Cost ratio vs overall system performance and improvement is another “no brainer” for me.  The MiG-SX speak for themselves.
